My belated share about a special lecture by Prof. Matsusaka

The lecture by Prof. Matsusaka of Waseda University was really interesting. I was glued to his talk about the sounds in English and Japanese. Let me tell you about two things that were striking.

He told us how easy it is to distinguish such consonants as l and r, because we just should take care of our position of the tongue. We students have already learned about that, but haven’t understood it perfectly. The lecture made up for the missing link of our understanding of predicting these consonants.

Secondly, his all stories were logical. He talked about not only how to pronounce English but also his experiences and episodes. All stories made sense to me.

If he came Senshu University for a speech again, I definitely would like to join it to keep my motivation up! (Kiwi girl)
