今回気になったのは、mobilize /móʊbəlὰɪz/ です。以下で意味等を確認していきます。
まず、LDOCEで引いてみると、“to start to use the things or people you have available in order to achieve something”とあり、『ウィズダム英和辞典』には、「〈人・物〉を集結する、集める」とありました。
続いてODEで語源を調べてみると、“mid 19th cent. : from French mobiliser, from mobile (see MOBILE).”と定義されていました。
