satiny 復習

　今回調べたのは satiny / sˈætni / です。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第四版,大修館書店）を使って調べてみたところ、satinと同じ意味であるとありました。「繻子のような,滑らかな;光沢のある」といった意味になるようです。LDOCEにはsatinyはsmooth, shiny, and softと定義されていました。また、satinはa type of cloth that is very smooth and shinyやhaving a smooth shiny surfaceと記載されていました。

satinyとsilkの違いは日本語にした方が分かりやすいかと思います。satinyは前述の通り、「繻子」です。一方、silkは「絹」なので材料から違うようです。(rain)
