　今回取り上げるのはoutbound / áʊtbàʊnd / です。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第四版,大修館書店）には「〈船・飛行機が〉外国行きの;〈交通機関が〉郊外に向かう;〈列車が〉欧州行きの」や「発信型の」とありました。またLDOCEにはmoving away from you or away from a town, country etcとありました。

　boundには形容詞で「〈交通機関が〉〔…〕行きの」などといった意味があるのでoutboundがこういった意味になるようです。boundは電車内でのアナウンスでよく聞くので覚えやすいかと思います。
