Komae mayor to resign over acts he thinks are not sex harassment
A mayor in western Tokyo said he will resign after receiving a protest letter from four female staff members who described episodes in what they say is his long history of sexual harassment.
“I can’t cause confusion in the city government anymore,” Komae Mayor Kunihiko Takahashi, 66, said at a news conference May 23.
Those who work with Takahashi have acknowledged his lewd behavior toward women in the administration, but the mayor has repeatedly denied the allegations.
The four women identified themselves in the protest letter, which was delivered to the mayor on May 22.

高橋市長は21日に行われた記者会見ではセクハラ行為を否定していましたが、女性職員からの実名の抗議文が提出され、否定の姿勢を一転しました。この抗議文が辞職の決め手となったようです。（aqua）
