Demonstrators rallied in front of the prime minister’s office in Tokyo on March 16 to call for a thorough investigation of the Finance Ministry over its doctoring of official records in a political scandal involving school operator Moritomo Gakuen.

They also called for the resignation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his Cabinet.

The rally was organized by former members of Students Emergency Action for Liberal Democracy-s (SEALDs), a group that gained prominence with huge protest rallies against contentious national security legislation in 2015.
