　“ligament”/ lígəmənt /を取り上げます。『ウィズダム英和辞典』を引いたところ、「靭帯」とありました。また、LDOCEでは“a band of strong material in your body, similar to muscle, that joins bones or holds an organ in its place”と定義されています。ちなみに、『ウィズダム英和辞典』の第２義には「結びつけるもの、きずな」とありました。LDOCEにはこの意味に該当する語義が載っていませんでした。そこで、インターネットで検索してみたところ、Merriam-Websterでは“a connecting or unifying bond”と定義されていました。他のサイトも確認してみましたが、「きずな」という意味が載っていないものも度々ありました。もしかしたらこの語義で使われることはあまりないのかもしれません。(Blue Sky)
