loiter /ˈlɔɪtə/が気になったため調べてみました。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版，大修館）を引いたところ、 「（目的もなく）ふらふらする，ぶらぶら歩いて行く，道草を食う」、「立ち止まる，ゆっくり歩く」、「（進行が）遅れる」などと載っておりました。Oxford Dictionary of English (2th) には、 “stand or wait around without apparent purpose”、 “walk slowly and with no apparent purpose”と定義されております。「目的もなく」というところがポイントの単語のようです。
