Mockumentary on flooding prepares Tokyo for the worst
Parts of central Tokyo are under water. Subway stations are flooded, and hundreds of thousands of people are stranded.
This is the theme of a vivid and visual fictional documentary created by the infrastructure ministry to show the public what could happen if significant torrential rains hit the capital, and what to do.
The video, “Arakawa hanran (Arakawa river flood),” runs to just over 14 minutes and follows a scenario of Tokyo being inundated with more than 500 millimeters of rainfall over three days, causing the bank of the lower Arakawa river in the northern part of the capital to cave in. The river runs through eastern Tokyo, north to south, and pours into Tokyo Bay.

Merriam-Websterを見てみると“a facetious or satirical work (such as a film) presented in the style of a documentary”と定義されています。
(flying bird)
