今回はscamper acrossをとりあげます。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版，大修館）を引いたところ、「（子供・小動物が）すばやく走り去る; 駆け上がる」などと載っておりました。名詞では「大急ぎの旅行」という意味もあるようです。Oxford Dictionary of English(Second Edition Reserved, Oxford University Press)にも、 "(especially of a small animal or child) run with quick light steps, especially through fear or excitement"などと定義されておりました。
