　気になった表現は “two-way player” です。 “as both a pitcher and batter” とあることから、twoはこの2つを表しているようです。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版　研究社）でtwo-wayを引いてみると「1（道路が）両方通行の　2（ラジオなどが）送受信両用の　3２者間の、相互の」などとありましたが、どれもしっくりときません。

　スポーツならではの用語なのではないかと思い、インターネットの力を借りると、weblioに「ツー・ウェイ・プレーヤー；攻撃・防御ともに上手なプレーヤー」と説明されていました。日本語の記事を探してみると、大谷選手が投手と打者のどちらもこなせる力を表すのに「二刀流」という言葉が用いられています。英語も日本語も2という数字が共通しているので、どちらもおさえておきたいです。（aqua）
