　皇居・東御苑内の宮内庁三の丸尚蔵館で、皇室の慶事の祝宴の引き出物などとして配られてきたボンボニエールの展覧会「皇室とボンボニエール―その歴史をたどる」が開かれています。

　“dignitary”/dígnətèri/を取り上げます。『ウィズダム英和辞典』を引いたところ、「(政府の)高官、高位の人(VIP)；(協会などの)高位聖職者、高僧」とありました。また、LDOCEでは“someone who has an important official position”と定義されています。ちなみに、“dignitary”に含まれている“dign-”には、「価値ある」という意味があるそうです。(Blue Sky)
