Cough Drop-Flavored Kit Kats Unleashed on Japan

Japan is home to many next-level Kit Kats, from melon to pancake, but the latest flavor to arrive in that country of so many excellent snacks is more of a head scratcher: Kit Kat Nodo Ame Aji, or Cough Drop Kit Kats.

Rocket News reports that each serving of cough drop-flavored Kit Kat offers a dose of 2.1 percent throat lozenge powder mixed in with white chocolate. The resulting taste is “fresh and invigorating,” according to Nestlé.

　lozenge (/ˈlɒzɪn(d)ʒ/) に注目しました。先般のゼミでsoothingという単語の説明でこの単語への言及がありましたが、『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版，大修館）を引いたところ、「ひし形」、「キャンデー，薬用ドロップ」などと載ておりました。Oxford Dictionary of English(Second Edition Reserved, Oxford University Press)にも、 "a small medicinal tablet, originally in the shape of a lozenge, taken for sore throats and dissolved in the mouth"という定義がありました。
