Riders trapped in mid-air on Flying Dinosaur attraction at USJ
OSAKA--About 30 passengers on a roller coaster at a popular amusement park here learned firsthand what it was like being gripped by a dinosaur for up to about a half an hour after their ride suddenly stopped on Aug. 20.
The riders on the Flying Dinosaur at Universal Studio Japan (USJ) in the city's Konohana Ward were left hanging in the pteranodon's talons with their bodies horizontal to the ground after the ride was stopped at around 4:10 p.m.
USJ said that soon after the ride set off, a child was confirmed entering the off-limits area near the platform, prompting the Flying Dinosaur to be halted for safety.

“talon” /tˈælən/を取りあげます。動物の脚の部分を表しているようです。
Oxford Living Dictionaryでは“A claw, especially one belonging to a bird of prey.”とあり「猛鳥のかぎ爪」となることが分かりました。語源はラテン語の“ankle bone, heel”を意味する“talus”だそうです。
見出しの“trap”では宙づり状態のまま動けなかったことと、アトラクションの翼竜に捕まえられているイメージがかけられています。けが人はいなく、子供が立ち入り禁止区域に入ってしまったので安全のために緊急停止したそうです。(flying bird)
