Inada to step down over GSDF S. Sudan daily reports flap
Defense Minister Tomomi Inada will resign over the growing scandal involving the handling of daily reports compiled by the Ground Self-Defense Force units that participated in a U.N. peacekeeping operation in South Sudan.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had planned to reshuffle his Cabinet on Aug. 3 and much of the focus was on whether he would retain Inada, considered by many to be his political protege.
