nonchalance 復習

　カナダのアルバータ州に住む男性がトルネードが接近している中であえて逃げずに仕事をしました。男性の仕事をしている画像は男性の妻によって撮影されました。
　記事の中で気になった単語は"nonchalance"です。『Wisdom英和辞典第三版』(三省堂)には「無関心, 無頓着」などという意味がありました。トルネードの中心が台風の目になっており，安全であることを写真が物語りました。(Ume)

The man who ignored a tornado

After a man in Alberta, Canada was photographed mowing his lawn while a tornado loomed behind him, Kelly Grovier looks at the perks of nonchalance.

It has always been assumed that when it comes to tornadoes, the most peaceful place is the centre: the eye of the storm. Until now. A photo captured this week in the small Canadian town of Three Hills, Alberta, suggests that there is perhaps no place more tranquil than inside the imperturbable mind of Theunis Wessels.
