air out 復習

To keep them always

Nagasaki city officials carefully turn the pages of 175 books listing the names of the atomic bomb victims to air out the books and check their condition on Thursday. After offering silent prayers at 11:02 a.m., the time when the atomic bomb was dropped on the city on Aug. 9, 1945, 11 officials wearing gloves started the airing process at Nagasaki National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims. The names of 3,487 people have been added to the books since last year.

Oxford Learners Dictionariesでは“to allow fresh air into a room or a building; to be filled with fresh air”と定義されています。 (Blue Sky)
