To reduce work stress, Japan firms turn to office cats, dogs and goats

Cats as well dogs, goats and alpacas are making themselves at home in some Tokyo offices, welcomed by employers for their ‘healing purposes.’

Eri Ito, who works at Ferray, says she is sold on the animal’s soothing ways.

“Cats are sleeping just beside us. … It’s healing,” Ito said.

Ferray employee Eri Ito is sold on their office cats’ soothing ways.

But there is also a downside to having felines in the office, Fukuda admitted.

“Sometimes a cat will walk on a phone and cut off the call, or they shut down the computers by walking onto the off switch,” he said.

Oxford Dictionary of English(Second Edition Reserved, Oxford University Press)には、 “to be very enthusiastic sth”と定義されております。

以上から文中では “she is sold on the animal’s soothing ways.” (Gomez)
