Pooch becomes arsonist after being left alone with gas stove
A dog left alone while its owner was out apparently set fire to its home by depressing an ignition button of a kitchen gas stove with its foreleg, police said.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on May 9 in the Okubo district of Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture, according to the Iwata Police Station and municipal firefighting headquarters.
The fire scorched an area of about 20 square meters. The dog survived the blaze.
