Japan Pro-Am Starts Today

Suffice it to say, the field is stacked for the men and women.

While the distance race will test the athlete’s endurance, the sprint race will gauge their raw paddling power. This exciting elimination-style event will take place on Saturday at 6:30pm PST (Sunday, 10:30am Japan time).

　今回はplay-by-playを取り上げます。Oxford Dictionary of English(Second Edition Reserved, Oxford University Press)によると、 "a detailed running commentary on a sporting contest"と定義されております。『新英和大辞典』（第三版，研究社）には、「（試合などの放送が）実況放送の，（記事・報告など）詳細な」と載っております。名詞では「（試合・競技などの）実況放送」とのことです。主にアメリカで使用されているようです。
