More cameras to watch for intruders on airport grounds
The transport ministry intends to install cutting-edge security cameras to monitor areas surrounding the premises of nationally administered airports (see below) that offer international airline services so that intruders on airport grounds can be detected quickly, according to sources.

Cameras will likely be installed at about 15 airports offering international flight services, such as New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido and Naha Airport. The number of cameras to be installed will vary from a few to dozens, the sources said. These cameras will be able to automatically track intruders and will likely have a function to check for intruders even at night or in inclement weather.
