シリアに住む子どもたちの現状が書かれております。シリアでは戦闘が激しく行われており，この戦闘で多くの子供達が被害に見舞われております。ユニセフの調査によると2015年で652名の子どもが戦闘に巻き込まれて死亡したようです。さらに子どもを戦闘員として雇い，最前線で戦わせるという事態も取り上げられておりました。
記事の中で気になった単語は"graffiti"です。『Wisdom英和辞典第三版』（三省堂）で調べると「《壁などの》 落書き」という意味がありました。Oxford Dictionaries.comには"Writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place"と定義されております。シリアでは，アサド政権と反政権派による内戦，ISによる侵攻に加えて，各国の利害が入り乱れており，長きに渡る混乱が続いております。(Ume)
