topsy-turvy

Photo Journal: Topsy-turvy

Members of the Riseisha High School baseball team imitate animals during a physical "creature training" exercise, in Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture, on Feb. 12, 2017. In the exercise, adopted at the school two years ago, participants get on all fours and imitate creatures such as lizards, peacocks and lions as they jump and arch their backs. While the movements are simple, after 50 or 100 repetitions, the team members' faces appear strained. They say it is the hardest part of their training.

この表現をCambridge Dictionary Onlineで調べてみると,“(in a state of being) confused, not well organized, or giving importance to unexpected things”と定義されていました。 (ninetails)
