　“a la”を取りあげます。フランス語からきており、『ジーニアス英和辞典』によると、ここではa la の後に人の名前が着ているので「(特定の人などを)まねて、…の流儀で」という意味がありました。形容詞を伴うと「…流の，…式の」という意味にもなります。LDOCEでは“in the same style as someone or something else”と定義がありました。
ふとプリン・ア・ラ・モードもア・ラがつくと思い調べてみると、modeを伴っているので「流行の、今話題の」という意味であることがわかりました。(lua)
