Kyoto police tap ideas from university students to stop crime

The Shimogamo police station in Kyoto city has launched a crime and accident prevention program using ideas suggested by students from local universities.

The police station last month distributed beverage coasters to restaurants in a bid to prevent drunken driving. The coasters depict a duck character turning down an offer of an alcoholic beverage with the line, “I came here by car today.”

The design was created by a student at Kyoto Seika University’s Faculty of Manga.

LDOCEには “(also tap into) to make as much use as possible of the ideas, experience, knowledge etc that a group of people has” と定義されており、tap intoという形でも表されるようです。
(aqua)
