今回取り上げる表現は “rocket” です。“rocket” といえば, 宇宙の「ロケット」でよく知られていますが, 今回は食材として用いられています。
『リーダーズ英和中辞典』(研究社)で調べると, 「[植]キバナスズシロ(arugula)」とありました。この植物をインターネットで調べたところ, イタリアンサラダ等に使用する「ルッコラ」を指していることがわかりました。(foodslink.jp) Merriam-Webster.comには, “any of several plants of the mustard family” と定義されています。
