Until this year, spending by tourists had been growing at a double-digit pace thanks in large part to tourists from China snapping up jewelry, paintings and other luxury goods costing thousands of dollars or more. 『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版，大修館）で調べたところ、「〈特売品など〉に飛びつく，〈土地・家など〉をさっさと手に入れる」や「〈人〉を雇い入れようと躍起になる」や「〈物・機会など〉をすばやくつかむ」などと載っておりました。
