Judo’s ‘yuko’ scrapped under revised rules

TOKYO (Jiji Press) — The International Judo Federation has announced revised match regulations, including the abolition of “yuko,” one of the three score types in the sport.

Also under the new rules announced Friday, “ippon” and “waza-ari” will remain in place, but two waza-ari scores will no longer add up to be the equivalent of ippon, which earns outright victory.
