今回取り上げる表現は"rekindle"という動詞です。接頭辞の"re"がついていることから、何かを再生するというニュアンスが推測できます。ではどのような意味なのでしょうか。
そこで『 ジーニアス英和辞典』(第５版)を調べてみると「再び点火させる、元気づけさせる」と載っていました。また、Word Reference comも同時に参照してみると" to (cause to) become aroused, excited, animated, or stirred up again"と定義されていました。
