Seibu Railway brings back ‘Galaxy Express 999’ trains

Bowing to the fervent wishes of anime fans and trainspotters, Seibu Railway Co. has relaunched trains decked out with characters from the popular “Galaxy Express 999” anime franchise.
The 8-car train made its debut on at the departure ceremony held at Toshimaen Station on the Toshima Line in Tokyo's Nerima Ward on Oct. 8.
The new green-colored trains are adorned with Maetel, Tetsuro and other characters from the space adventure story. The train will be operated as a regular commuter train running on the Ikebukuro, Seibu Chichibu, Toshima and Sayama lines until the end of March 2019, the company said.

今回取り上げるのは冒頭のbow toです。
bowといえば「お辞儀をする」が出てきますがここでは違うようです。

『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版、大修館書店）ではbow toのかたちで「（圧力・状況などを）受け入れる」とありました。

LDOCEでは“to finally agree to do something, even though you do not want to do it”と定義されています。

この電車は2009年〜2014年にかけて走っていましたが新型車両の切り替えのため廃止となり、「引退を惜しんだファンたちの声に応えて」復活したようです。(flyingbird)
