Okinawa base worker held in connection with missing woman

NAHA--A civilian worker at a U.S. military base was arrested May 19 on suspicion of abandoning a body believed to be a 20-year-old woman who disappeared in late April.

The identity of the 32-year-old suspect was not released.

The body was found on May 19 in the mountains of Kin, Okinawa Prefecture, according to Okinawa prefectural police.

They suspect the body is Rina Shimabukuro, from Uruma, Okinawa Prefecture, who has not been heard from since 8 p.m. on April 28, when she sent a short message to her live-in boyfriend, saying she was going for a walk.

LDOCEで調べてみると、“someone who lives with their sexual partner but is not married to them”と定義されていました。

(ninetails)
