採り上げるのはabove where the protective netting stoppedという部分。意味は「防護用ネットが掛けられているところを超えて」つまり「防護用ネットの最高点」と解釈できます。今回気になったのはstopの使い方です。stopというと動いている物が「停止する」ような感覚がありますが，英英辞書にはto not continue, or to make someone or something not continueという解説とともにThis is where the path stopsという用例が挙げられていました（LDOCE）。道路や記事のネットのように続いていたものが終わるときにもstopを用いるのですね。記事を読んでいて採り上げた箇所の解釈に苦しむことはありませんでしたが，日本語から英語に訳す際に，防護用ネットが「終わる」という意味でstopを思い浮かべることが私にはできなかったので採り上げてみました。（Koyamamoto）
