alert

Two plainclothes New York City police officers were shot in Brooklyn early Saturday during an exchange of fire with a gunman who had led officers on a brief car chase, officials said.

Both officers were alert and talking, Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters at a news conference on Saturday at the hospital with the police commissioner, William J. Bratton.

(Nao)
