キャメロン首相は，EU離脱の件について，EU幹部の面々と会談しました。イギリスのGDPが下がるなど，EU離脱によるマイナスの方がはるかに大きいようです。EU離脱に反対する勢力の方が依然強いです。投票はまだ開かれてはいませんが，今後，どうなっていくのでしょうか。

Martin Schulz, the European Parliament president, has told David Cameron he would work quickly to pass legislation agreed by EU leaders as part of the British prime minister’s “new settlement” with Brussels, but emphasised he could not guarantee MEPs will approve the deal.

Brexitは，「イギリスのEU離脱」のことです。手持ちの英和辞典にまだ載っておりませんでしたので，インターネットの力を借りることにいたしました。Collins Dictionary.comには“The United Kingdom withdrawing from the European Union”と定義されておりました。語源を知りたくなったので，Oxford Dictionary.comでは“2012 (asBrixit): blend of British (or Britain) and exit, probably on the pattern of Grexit (coined earlier in the same year)”とありました。要はBritish（Britain）のとexitの造語ということですね。2012年から使われていたということです。（Kawada）

tempus fugit様も取り上げておられました。Grexitと言う語も存在しており，2015年のWord of the Year shortlistに取り上げられていました。Grexitも，Brexitと（国はギリシャとイギリスで違いますが）原理は同じです。他の国が何らかの形で共同体を抜ける時に，どのような使われかたをするか，注目していく次第です。
