Actor dies after being struck by sword during rehearsal
An actor died Monday after a sword used in stage rehearsal struck him at a Tokyo studio, police said.
Daigo Kashino, 33, was believed to have used the 73-centimeter-long samurai sword during the rehearsal with several other actors at the studio in Tokyo’s Taito Ward. The police received a report around 11:50 a.m. that the sword went into his abdomen.
Kashino was rushed to a hospital but later confirmed dead. The sword may have been a mock one, they said.The police said they will conduct an autopsy on the actor to confirm the cause of his death.
