Strong quake hits Taiwan; 11 dead, dozens trapped

A magnitude-6.4 earthquake hit southern Taiwan at 3:57 a.m. Saturday, with the epicenter located in the city of Kaohsiung, according to Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau.

A 16-story building containing apartments and offices collapsed, along with several other buildings, leaving 11 people dead and more than 400 people injured in Tainan, a neighboring city of Kaohsiung, according to Taiwan’s Central News Agency (CNA) and local media reports.

この単語をLDOCEで調べてみると、“done too quickly and carelessly - used to show disapproval”と定義されていました。

(ninetails)
