全世界で大ヒットを記録している映画「ハンガー・ゲーム」の最終章"Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2"が本日、全世界同時公開となりました。このシリーズがこれほどの人気を集めるようになった理由の一つに、ヒロイン役であるJennifer Lawrenceの人柄が挙げられています。

取り上げる表現は”likability”です。
“likable”「<人が>好感の持てる、魅力のある、好ましい」（『ジーニアス英和辞典第４版（大修館書店）』）の名詞形です。『英辞郎on the WEB』には「好ましさ」という意味が書かれていました。また、”likability rating”や”favorability rating”で「好感度」という表現パターンも記載されていました。実際に記事の続きを読んでみても、”rating”と共起していることが分かります。
直前にある”BFF”も何のことか気になったので調べてみると、”Best Friend Forever”の略であることが分かりました。アメリカの10代〜20代の女性が使うことが多いらしく、最近ではSNS等でよく目にするとのことです。
