Run Girl Nightと呼ばれる女性による女性のためのラン祭りというイベントがお台場で開催されました。今年で5回目の開催で、2010年に一般社団法人ランガールを設立し、ランニングギアの開発や百貨店とのコラボレーションなども手がけているようです。
At RunGirl Night, a running event held in Tokyo in September, a 35-year-old company employee prepared for the run wearing lipstick, foundation and eye shadow. “I would feel extremely self-conscious if I was around so many other people without makeup on. After crossing the finish line, I want to look good in group photos, too,” she said.
The number of women who wear makeup while exercising is on the rise. “Sports makeup” is becoming more and more popular, as can be seen in the increasing popularity of no-smudge cosmetic products and makeup lectures held in tandem with running events.

復習となりますが、今回取り上げるのは"in tandem"です。tandemは日本語でも2人乗り自転車のことをタンデムと呼び、馴染みがありますが、"in tandem"で『ジーニアス英和辞典(大修館書店)』によると「同時に」という意味がありました。LDOCEでも確認してみると釤doing something together or at the same time as someone or something else"と定義されていました。
健康に関するものや特別な化粧品であったり、女性が参加したくなるようなイベントだと思いました。(lua)
