USJ says it had more visitors than Tokyo Disneyland in October
Universal Studios Japan attracted a record high 1.75 million visitors in October, a figure the theme park operator says eclipsed the total at Tokyo Disneyland for the first time.
USJ Co. said Nov. 2 that Halloween events and the continued popularity of the Harry Potter-themed attraction pushed attendance past the previous monthly high of about 1.46 million in October 2014. The theme park opened in 2001.
“We had the largest number of visitors in October in Japan as an individual theme park,” USJ executive Tsuyoshi Morioka said.
