Cancer group's mammogram advice: Start later and get fewer

mammogramを取り上げます。『オーレックス英和辞典』第２版（旺文社）によると、「乳房X戦写真｟mammographyで撮影したもの｠」（--“an examination of a breast using X-RAYS to check for cancer”OALD8）という意味です。

『英語語源辞典』（研究社）によると、mamma(o)-は「乳房」を表し、-gramは「書いたもの、文字、記録」とあります。そこからこの意味になったわけですね。（Kawada）
