環太平洋経済連携協定（TPP）の大筋合意で日本は本格的な貿易自由化時代に突入します。政府が発表した合意内容によると、関税の撤廃率は９５％と日本がこれまで結んできた貿易協定の中で最高となります。
TOKYO -- The Trans-Pacific Partnership will thrust Japan into full market competition, opening up opportunities for exporters and bringing in cheap food imports that could threaten farmers but benefit consumers.

今朝先生に「日経新聞」を頂いた際、「攻めの農業」を英語で何と言うのかと尋ねられました。今回はそれについて取り上げさせて頂きます。
「日経」に関連した記事から探そうと考え、NIKKEI ASIAN REVIEWの記事を扱わせて頂きます。記事の中で、攻めの農業に当てはまる表現は、“competitive agriculture”です。“competitive”は、「競争的な、自由競争による」という意味があり、農業の“agriculture”と合わさることで、「競争的な農業」から派生して、「攻めの農業」になると思います。
TPPにより、食品が多く輸入され、価格が下がる嬉しさがありますが、日本の農業にどう影響するのか。気になるところです。(Nao)
