　アメリカ中央銀行のFRBは，利上げを行わないことを決定しました。世界経済に減速の懸念が出ている中で，利上げを行うことはマイナスの影響が大きいと判断したのだと思います。
　記事の中で気になった単語は"dissenter"です。『Wisdom英和辞典第三版』（三省堂）によると「反対者; 異議を唱える人」などという意味がありました。ODには"A person who dissents"とあります。"dissent"は"The holding or expression of opinions at variance with those commonly or officially held"です。数カ月前までは9月に利上げをするという見方も大きかったのですが，資源価格の下落や，中国経済減速の影響が大きいのではないかと考えました。新興国の調子もあまりよくないため，利上げに踏み切った場合，新興国から米国へマネーが流出するという懸念もあると思います。（Ume）

US central bank leaves interest rates unchanged

The US central bank has decided to hold interest rates steady and keep them at the same level since December 2008.
The Federal Reserve said nine members of its Federal Open Market Committee voted to hold the key federal funds rate target at 0 to 0.25%.
Committee member Jeffrey Lacker was the only dissenter, favouring a 0.25 percentage point rise.
The Fed made it clear that concerns about the strength of the global economy had influenced its decision.
"Recent global economic and financial developments may restrain economic activity somewhat and are likely to put further downward pressure on inflation in the near term," the committee said in a statement.
