There is more than one way to skin a cat.

前にlet the cat out of bagという表現や、Curiosity killed the cat. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

There is more than one way to skin a cat 〔get a pig to a market, flay a fox〕./There is more ways than one to kill 〔skin〕a cat で「⦅諺⦆やり方〔手段〕はいろいろある; 猫の皮をはぐ〔ブタを市場へ出す, キツネの皮をはぐ〕方法は一通りだけではない⦅ことをするにはいろいろなやり方がある⦆☞異常、非合法なやり方をするときの弁解」(--“You can always find more than one way to do something.”FREE DICTIONARY BY FARFLEX)とありました。

There is no [not enough]room to swing a cat. 『アンカーコズミカ英和辞典』(学研教育出版)には「その場はすごくひどい、そこは身動きする余地もない(→このcatはcat-o’-nine-tailsの意)」(--“used humorously to say that an area or room is not very big” LDOCE5)とありました。

Wikipediaで調べたところ、“The cat o' nine tails, commonly shortened to the cat, is a type of multi-tailed whip that originated as an implement for severe physical punishment, notably in the Royal Navy and Army of the United Kingdom, and also as a judicial punishment in Britain and some other countries.” (Kawada)
