日本では先日、気象庁から夏期間３か月の天候予報の発表があったばかりですが、インドでは記録的な熱波が各地を襲っています。すでに暑さが原因で多くの人が犠牲になっており、その多くが高齢者、路上生活者、屋外での労働者でした。

Many people without ways to cool their homes are seeking shelter in shops and malls -- anything to escape the heat, she said.

週内は熱波が続くと見込まれており、複数の地域で気温が４５℃近くまで上昇しているようです。日本もこれから本格的な夏を迎えます。暑さに慣れていない天候の変わり目は要注意です。やはり第一の対策は水分補給ですね。（Chris）
