文部科学省が小中高などの学習指導要領にパラリンピックを意識した内容を盛り込むようです。

The education ministry will likely include “Paralympic education” in the curriculum for primary, middle, high and other schools with an eye toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, it has been learned.

今回取り上げるのは“quadrennial”です。“quadrennial”は「四年ごとに起こる」とありました。「『ジーニアス英和辞典第四版』大修館書店」ご存知の通り、“quadr-”は４を表す接頭辞でラテン語由来とされています。“quadruplet”「４つ子」や“quadrangle”「四角形」などがあります。他にも４を表す接頭辞に“tetra-”があり、これはギリシャ語由来とされています。
記事によると、文部科学省は2020年の東京オリンピックだけではなくパラリンピックへの関心をその後も続く教育の“legacy”にしようと見込んでいるようです。（faith）
