New York Today: Snow, but Not Like Last Year’s
Good morning on this cloudy Wednesday.
The governor will give his State of the State address today.
Snow is coming tonight, but it’s no “plowgate.”
Last year on Jan. 21, a big storm was barreling toward the city.
The plows were ready, but, as you may recall, as the snow piled up that night, some of them got stuck in traffic, and parts of the Upper East Side weren’t immediately cleared.
A kerfuffle followed, with residents of that neighborhood hurling allegations of discriminatory plowing at the tale-of-two-cities mayor.
“I guess the Upper East Side isn’t getting plowed anymore,” a resident of that neighborhood told The Times. “Maybe he is doing Brooklyn and Queens.”
