Apple社のiPodめぐる独禁法訴訟で，2011年に死去した元CEOのSteve Jobs氏による宣誓証言ビデオ（videotaped deposition）が公開されました。
そのビデオ後半部でのJobs氏の言葉の中にthere’s been a lot of water under that bridge in seven yearsという表現がありました。be (all) water under the bridgeは話し言葉で「過ぎてしまったことだ, 嘆いても仕方のないことだ」という意味の表現です（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館）。よってここでは「この7年の間に（iPodに関係する出来事はあまりに多く）今となってはどうにもできないことが多い」と解釈できます。（Koyamamoto）

Videotaped Deposition of Steve Jobs Played in Apple iPod Trial
OAKLAND, Calif. — About six months before his death, Steven P. Jobs, the late chief executive of Apple, gave a videotaped deposition in an antitrust case that has just this week finally wound its way into a federal courtroom.
In the video played Friday afternoon, Mr. Jobs, wearing his usual black turtleneck, looked frail and spoke in a soft voice. He spun restlessly in his chair and at one point leaned his head against his right hand, indicating his boredom.
…“I’m sorry I don’t remember more of this for you, but there’s been a lot of water under that bridge in seven years,” Mr. Jobs said.
