New York Today: Enter December
Good morning on this cloudy Monday.
It’s the first of December.
Christmas tree vendors can now legally ply their firs.
Because of a law from 1938 — recently invoked by a developer against a vendor who appeared early — Christmas trees can be sold in New York only during the month of December.
So today, the streets, and the city at large, may begin the holiday transformation.
