Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s reshuffled second Cabinet went into full swing Thursday morning with new ministers taking over duties from their predecessors and giving instructions to officials.
“On a new note from today, I’ll make all-out efforts to revitalize the nation’s economy and vitalize local economies,” Abe told reporters at the Prime Minister’s Office in the morning.
“I have to coordinate between ministries and agencies,” Vitalizing Local Economy Minister Shigeru Ishiba said on a TBS program at noon, referring to a budget related to the vitalization of local economies in fiscal 2015. He stressed that he will actively negotiate with other ministers on the matter, saying, “I must go to other ministers’ offices to talk about it in person.”
