heartthrob #2

安倍首相の「笑っていいとも」出演の経緯についてWSJがまとめていました。

PM Abe Blushes During Chat With Celebrity Heartthrob ‘Kimtaku’

Imagine if President Barack Obama and hunky big-screen superstar Brad Pitt had a friendly telephone chat, and the normally frosty president was reduced to giggles and blushes.

That is kind of what happened in Tokyo on Friday between Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and one of the Japan’s biggest singing and acting sensations, Takuya Kimura — “Kimtaku” — fodder of fantasy for many of young, and not-so-young women across the country.

The telephone encounter came during a segment of Fuji Television’s lunchtime variety talk show, “Waratte Iitomo” (It’s Okay to Laugh), hosted by well-known comedian Kazuyoshi Morita, better known as “Tamori” and instantly recognizable for his dark sunglasses on all occasions.

Mr. Abe was appearing as the day’s featured guest on the noon program, while Mr. Kimura was scheduled to appear on Monday. Program staff put in a call to Mr. Kimura, then handed the phone to Mr. Abe.

出演はキムタクからの「紹介」だったわけですか…。首相のイメージ戦略に合致したということでしょう。heartthrob(ほれぼれするいい男、ときめきのアイドル, etc)はどきどき感を表すthrob由来の言葉ですね。
しかしながら, キムタクが依然、heartthrobとは…。でもしっかりと記事を読むとちゃんとnot-so-young womenという注釈がありました。(UG)
